the dirtiest punk rock to come out of the UK since the Sex Pistols disbanded

Unlike the bathroom fixtures whose name they share,Armitage Shanks is more likely to be found in the garage producing some of the dirtiest punk rock to come out of the UK since the Sex Pistols disbanded in 1978.

Armitage Shanks came together in early 1991 in Snodland, Kent and released its first single in 1993 with good friend and renowned artist, musician and poet Billy Childish on lead vocals. Shortly thereafter they took on opening band duties for UK garage punk legends Thee Headcoats during their shows at the legendary Wild Western Room in St. John's Tavern in London.

The band continued to create a signature brand of punk rock with its own London shows, tours of the UK and Europe, and by releasing 10 singles and 5 full length albums on labels in Germany, France, Japan and the United States. After a 5 year hiatus, Armitage Shanks recorded a new full-length album titled Urinal Heap and recently concluded a tour of the American Midwest.
